June 20, 2026: The Cottages of Little Chebeague Island
An update on Lock Kiermaier’s research into the families that owned the cottages on Little Chebeague Island pre-WWII.
July 18, 2026: Red Sands Cottage
Lynn LaMontagne will share the story of the Red Sand Cottage on the West End. The cottage has been in her family for many years, will be on the House Tour on 6/27 and is also featured in this summer’s exhibit about West End families.
August 15, 2026: The Evolution of the Long Island Library
Nancy Jordan will share the story of the evolution of the library, from bookshelves in the school basement to the current state-of-the-art library. Nancy was head of the Building Committee and is a member of the Library Board of Directors.
September 19, 2026: Throwaways and Keepers: Book writing on Long Island
Ron Pedro and a number of other Long Islanders have been working on writing a book under the guidance of Karen Boss. Ron’s book for middle-graders will be published in November. Come hear what was involved in the writing and publishing!

Tuesday July 14, 2026: The North Atlantic Fisheries with Seth Goldstein
Director of Development at the South Portland Historical Society
The Grand Banks and George’s Banks were the life-line of fisheries from the 1700s until the early 1900s. Seth will share what this involved, how the fishermen worked the Banks and the effect of their catch on the economy.
Tuesday, August 11: The Ferries of Casco Bay by Larry Legere
Larry is a retired Casco Bay Ferry Captain and has amassed an impressive collection of postcards and photographs of the various ferries that operated in Casco Bay for more than a century. His collection includes some photographs that haven’t been seen elsewhere!
