July 19, 2025: The Ocean Street House by Eric Norcross – we learned that Sarah Cloudy wanted to build a small house in the late 1970s for herself and her son. After she married Richard Ladd they modified the plan for a larger house. The house was entirely built by the 2 of them as funds became available over the years. There was a lot of scavenging materials from around the island and Fort McKinley before it was redeveloped.
July 24, 2025: A program on the families and houses on the Nubble at Harbor d’Grace by Carol Welu, who with her husband Richard Surry currently owns the house.
August 10, 2025: A reshowing of the video LI- Chebeague Connections
August 23, 2025: The Overlook: A LI Island Duplex on Appletree Lane, with Karen Rea. The Overlook cottage was built as a duplex in 1899, possibly the only duplex on the island. After being abandoned for a number of decades, the Francomano family rebuilt it by scavenging supplies from around the island. It is now a single family home but “ghosts” of the duplex still remain.
September 20, 2025: The Schonland Cottages by Amy Tierney. The Schonland brothers were the originators of the Red Casing Natural Hot Dog in 1891. In 1895 and 1910 the two brothers Richard and Carl purchased cottages along Island Avenue. While the Tierney cottage is dramatically changed as it became a year-round house, the others have remained almost unchanged.
