Our 2022 summer exhibit “Short Stories: A Celebration of Island Life” is now over for the season. However, it may still be viewd by special arrangement by emailing us at longislandhistory@hotmail.com. Please give us a few days notice to arrange this. The exhibit featured photos of “Squid Fest”, which started as a New Year’s Eve celebration featuring fried calamari; “Maine Shell Middens”, featuring the story of the shell heaps left by the Native Americans when they summered on the Maine seacoast; “The Collage Project”, a collection of photo collages created last fall by a small group of islanders to share their links with the island; and the fascinating stories of a number of new donations to our collection.
